Morgan Wilson

Education and Outreach Director

Morgan Wilson is originally from Hot Springs and, despite not having many artistic opportunities in town, took advantage of all that was available: piano, dance, and voice lessons, captaining the show choir and cheer team, and taking art and woodshop classes. She was very involved in the mentorship of youth by participating in church mission trips, being a summer camp counselor for elementary and middle school students, teaching cheer camps, and assisting the elementary school music teacher with the fourth grade music program her senior year. She went on to receive a BA in Musical Theatre, a certificate in Arts Administration, and a minor in Music from Northern State University. In her time at NSU, she was President of the Masquers Theatre Club, a Resident Assistant, and had a work study position in the school library in the archives department. She even got to choreograph Aberdeen Community Theatre's production of James and the Giant Peach Jr. and NSU's Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. For the Region 5 KCACTF, her freshman year, Morgan was nominated for an Irene Ryan acting award for her role in Everything is P.R. and recognized her sophomore year for her stage management work for Fun Home.

Since moving back to the Black Hills, Morgan has immersed herself in the arts community by participating in productions, both on and off stage, at Black Hills Community Theatre, Catalyst Theatre Company and Seraphim Theatrical Entertainment, instructing the musical theatre course at Fusion Dance Studio 2024-25 season, and just for fun, taking pottery classes at the Dahl. Morgan first joined the BHCT staff in July of 2024 as the Education and Outreach Assistant under her amazing predecessor, Dave DeChristopher. During that time, she also worked in the box office, concessions, and in the scene shop. In June of 2025, Morgan took on the Director of Education and Outreach position and is having a blast. She adores working with the Cherry Street students, the ladies of the Well Done Players, our phenomenal local playwrights in the Broken Lemons, and partnering with local businesses and organizations in the community for outreach events.

In the Rapid City area, you may have seen her as Ocean Rosenberg in Ride the Cyclone,  Swing in Lizzie the Musical, Morgan James in Godspell, and in the ensemble of Anastasia. Some of Morgan's favorite past roles and productions include: being in the ensemble of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Sophie Sheridan in Mamma Mia!, Tilly Evans in She Kills Monsters, Cathy Hiatt in The Last Five Years, Annie Cannon in Silent Sky, The Girl in Lasso of Truth; stage management: Man of La Mancha, The Brain from Planet X, Lewiston, and Photograph 51; Directing: 10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse, Everyone Gets Eaten by Sharks, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid the Musical.

The mission of BHCT is to collaborate with our community to entertain, educate, and foster growth in the arts with a vision to serve as a creative and educational home that is inclusive, transformative, and inspirational for the entire community and the values of community engagement, inclusivity, innovation and creativity.
