Actor’s Boot Camp – it’s summer camp, for adults!
Brush up on things you know, learn things you don’t, all while becoming a part of the great BHCT community! BHCT staff teaches a series of classes designed to get you ready for the 24-25 season – including The Broken Lemon’s Play in a Day, on August 24th. Sign up now to learn stuff and have fun!
Classes run from 6-8pm, Tuesdays, August 6-27. Each class is only $5 or sign up for all four for only $15. Tuition payable at the start of class and can be paid with cash, check, or card.
Aug. 5: It’s Happening Now! Taught by Merlyn Q. Sell
Successful actors don't just act, they react. Through exercises and scene work we will develop the skills to stay present in the moment, ready to make discoveries and allow our performances to evolve authentically.
Aug. 13: Take the Note taught by Joanna Lawler & Rodger Hartley
Aug. 20: What Do You Want? Taught by Ryan Puffer
An easy way to amp up your acting performance is by knowing exactly what your character wants and how they go about getting it. This scene work class will explore how to discover your character's objectives and how to employ tactics to achieve them.
Aug. 27: All Systems Go! taught by Dave DeChristopher
Scene work starts not with the director, but with you, and preparation produces the confidence that leads to a fully realized performance. We'll unpack the multiple components that make up a scene. Whether you're auditioning or in rehearsal, the director will appreciate that you've done some homework.
Cherry Street Fun Nights – 6-8pm on Tuesdays, August 1-22.
BHCT is happy to offer two hours of theatre games and activities for kids ages 8-12. Take some time off and let us do the entertaining while you enjoy dinner, some time on the town, or just a quiet evening at home. $20 a night or $70 for all four nights. Parents attending our Actors Boot Camp classes can enroll their students for $5 a night.
