Cherry Street Players:
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Musical
Directed by Morgan Wilson

First day of classes Saturday January 10th.
To learn more, email [email protected].

Registration for the spring semester of Cherry Street is now open, as of December 29th 2025 and will accept registrations through January 13th. We are both thrilled and saddened to say that registration for our production of Diary of a Wimpy Kid the Musical is full. Do not fear! If your student is interested in our programs, we have plenty of space in our Cherry Street Mini program for ages 6-14. In the Mini program, we
have a lot of fun drafting our showcase from the ground up and typically, since we have less students, are able to dive a little deeper into activities. The Mini program is a smaller commitment with rehearsals on Tuesdays for 7 weeks, running January 13-February 24, from 4-6 with the showcase on the final Tuesday.

You can fill out the online registration form below. Feel free to email Morgan with any questions! To ensure the inclusivity of our program, we do offer 50% scholarships and/or a Payment Plan option. To apply for a scholarship, we ask that you send Morgan a short essay detailing the financial need of your family. If you're  approved, a discount code will be sent to you to fill out the registration form.

When filling out the registration form, if you’re able to help the theatre save money on credit card processing fees, we ask that you pay by check/cash or select the ACH Bank Transfer option on the registration form.

Registration for CSP Mini
Since its inception in 1999, the Cherry Street Players has introduced over 350 young people ages 8-14 to the artistic and technical fundamentals of theater. Students  participate in classroom exercises and instruction that culminate in the rehearsal and performance of a fully staged production each semester. All participants get a chance to showcase what they’ve learned and experience the excitement of performing live for the community.

The spring semester usually runs January to April and the fall semester runs September to December. Contact us to be added to the mailing list and get notified of new education programs as they are announced.

If you would like to learn more or join the Cherry Street Players, please call 605-394-2250 or email [email protected].

Scholarships are provided through the Nicolas Christenson Memorial Scholarship Fund. Nic was an inspirational mentor and Cherry Street teacher who believed fully in the life-long value of theatre education.

You can support the fund by clicking here and noting in the comments that the donation is for CSP Scholarships.
