A medley of your favorite holiday shows, this year’s fundraiser follows the Pistachios gang as they learn the true meaning of Christmas. Bringing together the BHCT community, including members of the Well Done Players, BHCT’s Broken Lemons Playwriting Group, and other denizens of the Black Hills, BHCT’S Holiday Show Extravaganza; or, How Krampus (Almost) Stole Christmas is a show designed to highlight the diversity of our Rapid City community.

As they attempt to put on a Christmas Pageant, "Chuck", "Ethel", and "Schubert" encounter hardships that test their holiday spirit. Chuck’s family leaves him Home Alone, fending for himself against thieves who want to steal Christmas. Meanwhile, after Ethel gets frustrated with the gang for not taking the Christmas Pageant seriously, she comes home to find out her father has been transferred to a new job in St. Louis. With the help of BHCT’s Well Done Players, Ethel learns what makes a South Dakota Christmas so special. Will she stay? Or will she go? Finally, the talented pianist, Schubert, feels stifled by the artistic opportunities in Rapid City. Visited by three spirits, Schubert is taken through a journey of what his life would have looked like if he had left his hometown. Interwoven in the story are hidden holiday show references, your favorite holiday musical numbers to sing-along to, and opportunities for the audience to get involved!

Written specially for our BHCT audience, you may find yourself a character in this interactive show! Will the Pistachios learn the true meaning of Christmas? You’ll have to come to BHCT’S Holiday Show Extravaganza; or, How Krampus (Almost) Stole Christmas to find out!

Featuring the Dynamix!

Vonnie Houchin, Music Director--wife, mother of four sons, classroom teacher of 35+ years, church music director, and lover of musical theater! Music directing at the Firehouse Brewing Theater, BHCT, & Black Hills Playhouse has brought depth to the joy that music brings to life. Vonnie hopes you enjoy the show, leave with light heart, and are singing the joy of this season!

Meredith Meersman, Pianist--Meredith once again brings her talented fingers (and voice) to the BHCT world. She has music directed several shows at BHCT and beyond. Her deep musical expertise and sharp wit make her a force to be reckoned with! Enjoy the music and the wonder of Christmas!
